The Spinal Flow Technique
The Spinal Flow Technique is a beautiful gift that helps connect your body, soul, and mind. It enables you to heal from emotional, physical, and chemical spinal blockages and empowers you to live life to your fullest potential.
The Spinal Flow Technique is a powerful, yet gentle, fast, healing modality that facilitates healing via the nervous system. Dr. Carli Axford founded Spinal Flow Technique, with over 20 years of research, observation and clinical success. She used her knowledge of science and the anatomy of the spine and nervous system to create a gentle, fast, and effective technique to release spinal blockages so that the body could heal from pain, disease, and illness by restoring the full connection of the brain to the nervous system and facilitate the body's natural healing process.
7 Gateways of the Spine
There are 7 Gateways of the spine that protect your nervous system. During a spinal flow session, specific access points on the spine are contacted to identify blockages that disrupt the flow of messages between the brain and body. When the gateways are freed of blockages, the nerve signals can flow out and supply the organs and cells of the body, and this results in health healing, and overall well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions
What to Expect During Your Spinal Flow Initial Visit & Assessment
Before your initial visit and assessment, your Spinal Flow Practitioner will send you an intake form via email to complete. Once you arrive, your practitioner will review your form with you and then proceed with the following steps:
Posture Assessment: Your practitioner will assess your posture to identify any misalignments or tension patterns.
Movement Observation: Simple movements will be observed to detect any blockages or restrictions.
Vertebral Assessment: The practitioner will gently feel each vertebra to locate any blockages that are affecting nerve and energy flow, and identify any stored chemical, emotional, or physical stress. What to wear to your appointment
Spinal Flow assessments and treatments are performed with you fully clothed. Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (avoid tight items like spandex, shapewear, or leggings). We also recommend avoiding denim jeans with thick seams, as they may interfere with access points during the session.
What to Expect During Your Spinal Flow Treatment
During your Spinal Flow session, you will lie fully clothed on your stomach on a massage table, with support bolsters under your hips. Your practitioner will make gentle contact with specific access points along your spine and cranium, helping bring your body’s awareness to these areas to release any blockages. Spinal Flow treatments are very gentle, safe, and effective, with no contraindications.
How Long Are Spinal Flow Treatments?
Spinal Flow sessions vary in length depending on the individual’s needs:
-
Child Sessions: Approximately 15 minutes for children under 10
-
Adult Sessions: Typically 25 minutes for regular follow-up treatments
-
Baby Sessions: Around 10 minutes for infants
Children tend to respond quickly, while adults with long-standing blockages may take more time to heal.
-
How Often Should I Receive Spinal Flow Treatments?
At your initial visit, your practitioner will discuss your primary treatment goals and suggest a plan for future sessions. Spinal Flow is so gentle and safe that you can schedule multiple sessions per week, or even in one day if necessary. The frequency of treatments depends on the severity of your condition. Once your spinal health is restored, many clients opt for regular maintenance sessions to prevent minor issues from becoming more serious.
Following your initial assessment, you can also book a Spinal Flow Group Session. We offer 6 and 12-session packages for group treatments.
Benefits of Spinal Flow Group Sessions
More Booking Options: Increased availability to fit your schedule

Enhanced Healing Energy: The collective energy in the room promotes greater flow and healing

During a group session, you will lie down with pelvic blocks placed under your hips. Your practitioner will make contact with specific access points on your spine, triggering a reflex action in your nervous system that continues even as they move to other participants. The pelvic blocks also provide support to help release any holding patterns in your hips, as your body works to identify and release blockages. The room will remain quiet, except for calming music. Rest assured, your practitioner will maintain confidentiality and quietly relay any observations about your spine after the session.
How to Support Your Body Between Spinal Flow Sessions
Healing is often not a straight path, so you may need extra rest as your body releases stored emotional, chemical, and physical stress from your spine. Here are some additional ways to support your body during this process:
-
Nourish Your Body: Eat healthy, nutrient-rich food to support healing.
-
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins.
-
Move Your Body: Gentle walks, dancing, yoga etc can help your body adjust to new muscle patterns after your session.
-
Journal: Writing down thoughts and feelings can help you process any emotions or memories that come up during your session, as the body often brings these to the surface for awareness.
